Yash Kumar, born on November 16, 1978, in Sarlahi, Nepal, is a multifaceted artist known for his work as a singer, songwriter, music composer, and actor. He has significantly contributed to Nepal's music and film industry, earning numerous accolades, including the Best Playback Singer at the 3rd Himalayan International Nepali Music Award in Dubai (2020) and the Best Modern Singer at the 4th Epic Nepal Music Award in 2022.

Beyond his artistic pursuits, Yash Kumar is an active campaigner against Nepal's untouchability system. Born to a Brahmin father and a Dalit mother, he has faced discrimination firsthand, fueling his advocacy for social justice. In recognition of his efforts, he was honored with a Social Service Award by President Ram Chandra Poudel on Constitution Day.
